Brrrrrrrrr!!!

Posted by Leicesterprep on 2nd February 2012

The weather was freezing but the sun was shining – a lovely day for a run!  Upper School’s cross country event has been lucky enough to have good weather for many years now and today was no exception.

Years 5 and 6 were set two laps of the field and Years 3 and 4 one lap (although if they chose they could go on to complete a second lap).  All the children were aiming to gain points for their house with penalties for walking, or extra points for more than their required distance.

Mr Brice was at the start and finish line, Mr Thanki, Mrs Radulovic and Mr Cann were around the course to encourage and when it was all over there was hot chocolate and Mars bars in the clubhouse, before changing and returning to school.

Who won?  We are still awaiting the official results from Mr Brice so watch this space!

Father Christmas visit

Posted by Leicesterprep on 14th December 2011

Great excitement yesterday as Father Christmas took time out of his very busy schedule to come and visit us.  He must have parked his sleigh round the corner because there was no sign of it outside the school although we looked and looked.  He found a comfy chair near the Christmas tree in the hall and every child got a present.  Thank you Father Christmas for taking the time to come to visit us!

Christmas Fayre

Well done Year 5 and 6 for all the great games you thought up for the younger pupils to play. You managed to raise £80. The School Council will decide with Mrs Radulovic what we will spend it on.

FROM YEAR 3 . . . .

On Tuesday afternoon we went to watch a pantomime called Mother Goose.  We went in the minibus to Loughborough Town Hall.  The characters were called Demon King who was evil.  There was also Jack and Jill who were friends then they came in love.  Jack and Archie were brothers. I thought it was funny because the man does the girls role and the girl does the boys part. I liked Priscilla.  She is a goose who lays golden eggs.  Her nickname is Mother Goose.                                            Hasan F

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to Loughborough Town Hall.  The pantomime we watched was called Mother Goose.  These are the character’s names, Fairy Betty, Demon King, Jack (Mother Goose’s son), Archie (Mother Goose’s son), Mother Goose, Squire, Jill (Squire’s daughter), Priscilla.  My favourite character was Jack.  It was very exciting I didn’t like the Demon King because he was really bad.                   Senya

On Thursday afternoon Upper School went to a pantomime to see Mother Goose in Loughborough.  My favourite characters were the Demon King and Jack and Mother Goose.  Mother Goose was really funny.  I had a good time it was really good.  We all got to do some booing and hissing.  I enjoyed Mother Goose.  At the end we got to sing a song and we had a competition.  I had a great time                                                       Georgina

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to Loughborough pantomime in the mini bus and I was very excited because I had never been to a pantomime and the pantomime we went to see was Mother Goose and the characters were the Demon King.  The squire was a very rich man and Mother Goose had to pay the squire very many taxes.  Mother Goose was very poor so the fairy made Priscilla a magic goose that could make golden eggs to sell to the squire.                                                                                 Zain

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to Loughborough to watch a pantomime called Mother Goose.  the characters were called Fairy Betty, the Demon King, Jack and Archie Squire.

The Demon king was an evil man who stole Priscilla’s gold eggs.  At the end we had a competition to see which side was the loudest, it was a draw.  It was a fun day went back to the school.                                Ricco

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to a pantomime. It was called Mother Goose and there were lots of actions and it was scary and funny.  There were lots of characters (like Fairy Betty, Demon King, Jack, Jill Squire and Archie).  The most important one is Priscilla.  We had a snack half way through because  it was very long.  I was very excited to watch it, some bits were funny, scary, magical, boring and lots more.                                                                Kurren

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to see Mother Goose in Loughborough Town Hall, the characters are Mother Goose, Fairy Betty, the Demon King, Jack, Archie, Jill, the squire, Priscilla and Mother Goose.  I liked the show.  I liked the best was all of it.                                   Kallum

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to a pantomime called Mother Goose.  Year 3 and 4 went on one minibus, 5 and 6 went on the other one. I felt excited and fun.  I thought bhey would do real fighting but they didn’t.  We got to boo, hiss, cheer and sing. I liked the Demon King, Archie and Priscilla. I liked them because I like baddies and magicians and people that get away.    Alex

AND FROM YEAR 4 . . . . . .

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to a pantomime in Loughborough Town Hall where we saw MOTHER GOOSE. I liked the Demon King because he was bad and evil and when he made Mother Goose into that waterfall to make her beautiful but it didn’t. I liked where Mother Goose had that grenade. Priscilla laid some golden eggs but the squire stole them.   Kourosh

On Tuesday 6th December afternoon Upper School went to a pantomime.  The story was Mother Goose.  The goose was very important character.  The other characters are Fairy Betty, Demon King, Jack, Archie, Jill and the Squire. we did this in the afternoon.  the goose’s name was Priscilla, I sat at the top row.  I was very excited and my best character was Archie because he was funny.  Mother Goose had a grenade and we had a competition for the loudest school.                                                                                                                                                          Tinashe

On Tuesday afternoon Upper School went to see Mother Goose.  It was in Loughborough.  When we got there we had to queue for a long time.  When the show started it was good how Fairy Betty introduced the show.  It was very funny when Archie and Mother Goose were painting the room.                                                                          Chris

On Tuesday we went to see Mother Goose at Loughborough Town Hall.  We went to see Mother Goose at the pantomime.   There were seven main characters when the Demon King came we booed. When Fairy Betty came we shouted Yeah!  My favourite character I like was Priscilla.  Priscilla was Mother Goose’s pet and Archie and Jack were her sons. Priscilla could lay golden eggs because Squire put up the rnt so the fairy made Priscilla lay golden eggs.  Jack and Jill were in love.  Jill was squire’s daughter.  The boys played girls and the girls played boys.  Everyone liked the Demon King but I liked Priscilla. Squire wanted to steal the golden eggs.  The demon made him steal but the Demon made Mother Goose give him Priscilla.  Priscilla was trying to warn her but she did not listen;.  The thing is the Demon said if you give me Priscilla I will make you beautiful.  All Mother Goose cared about is being beautiful so she did the bet.  The Demon said if you go in this water we will become more beautiful but if you stay in there longer than 3 minutes you will be so you’d be like a child after that you would be gone but in the end we got the demon in the shrinking water so Jack and Jill could get married.                                                                                                 Hasan J
